| | | | All Hallow's Eve (2003) Director: David Pinner Cast: Maggie Q (co-star), John Cooney, Roger Forbes, Catherine Griller, Elizabeth Ingram. Synopsis: An estranged pair of sisters, Lucinda(Catherine Griller) and Francesca (Elizabeth Ingram) is reunited when the latter returns to the family home, bringing along her son and daughter, Nimue (Maggie Q) and Byron (John Cooney). Its evident that the siblings share an extraordinarily intimate bond, and their arrival seems to awaken in the house long forgotten ghosts. Matters are further complicated with the arrival of the mysterious Arthur (Roger Forbes), a man with his own dark secrets... Q notes: "The producer of the play, John Cooney, came up with the idea to debut the production in Hong Kong, and cast a Eurasian actress in the lead role. Every young and talented actress in town came in to audition, and I was the last! Being from England, they had no idea who I was, which was great. I really felt that I got cast due to their faith in me. After they offered me the role, it hit me that this was real acting, on stage, no editing, no 'take two'... It was a great experience in terms of the discipline of stage work and learning an entirely different method of acting. I was slammed by the local media before the play even opened, because, in their eyes, I was a model-turned-actress who, they felt, couldnít possibly hold her own on the stage with real actors. It'snever good to hear that kind of stuff, but it made me all the more determined to prove them wrong. In the end, after five weeks of rehearsal, the play was well received, and that was especially gratifying, given the earlier criticism. <Back> |
