Model From Hell (Horror)
(1999)
(AKA Ghost Model)
Director: Chiu Chan-keung
Cast: Simon Yam, Maggie Q (featured), Gabriel
Harrison
Synopsis: John (Gabriel
Harrison) opens a modeling agency, with the sole
intention of meeting attractive girls. He enlists
the help of the mysterious Anna (Maggie Q), a
woman with her own weird secrets. She uses her
hypnotic powers to force John and his friends
to help her pursue her murderous agenda. When
Anna develops a relationship with top male model
Leon (Simon Yam), some jealous fellow femmes start
shooting pictures of the couple. The photos reveal
a secret that leads to a bizarre and bloody finale...
Q notes: "My agent
was approached by the producer, to make a film
which was, at that time, entitled 'Ghost Model'.
I worked on it for a little over a week! I enjoyed
working with Simon (Yam). He is so experienced
and just such a professional. The director and
assistant director were also very nice. Also,
I think every actress should have at least one
two-headed monster movie on her resume...(ha!).
Speaking of which, the one really cool thing was
that, for the effects work, I had to go and get
a mold of my head done, and went to meet this
old master that did all the body and face molds
for Bruce Lee for his movies. His workshop is
in a dark corner of Kowloon, and the walls are
just covered with actual Bruce Lee memorabilia.
When Regent Entertainment was putting together
their promotional materials for 'Gen-Y Cops they
listed everyoneís credits. Paul Rudd: 'Clueless',
Maggie Q: "Model From Hell'. We were worried
people wouldn't realize these were film titles..."
